EXPLANATIONS & DEFINITIONS:
MARGINAL VISUAL FLIGHT RULES refers to weather conditions that are flyable under visual rules but are borderline and potentially challenging. These conditions require higher situational awareness because weather parameters are approaching instrument conditions.
The Blue Angels can fly during Marginal Visual Flight Rules (MVFR), but they will alter their routine. They require a minimum ceiling of 1,000 feet and 3 miles of visibility. Because their maneuvers require high altitudes and visual proximity to each other, they adjust their routines based on the exact weather.
